Blake's 7 is a British science fiction television programme that was produced by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) for its station BBC1. Set in the far future, Blake's 7 follows the fortunes of a group of rebels in their fight against the dictatorial Terran Federation. Four thirteen-episode series were produced between 1978 and 1981. Blake's 7 was created by Terry Nation. The series' budget was severely restricted, which limited the scope for visual effects.

Paul Darrow as Kerr Avon Tribute

Posted on June 3, 2019 at 5:55 PM Comments comments (0)

Very Sad News...

Actor Paul Darrow (RADA), born Paul Valentine Birkby, 2 May 1941 , died aged 78 (3 June 2019).

Paul had an extended career , but his Kerr Avon in the cult sci-fi series Blake’s 7 stands out for me for a very special reason (read

Blake’s Legacy: 40 Years of Rebellion). Avon was the reluctant, brooding, cynical and witty computer expert on board the spacecraft Liberator who so often saved the ship and its crew.

I've met Paul a few times and he was a lovely gentleman who showed an amazing memory skill. He loved to discuss his stage play work of the old days, touring in my country.

I was on concert tour, singing work by Gabriël Fauré, among other the Requiem. As Paul was a classical music lover I thought it appropriate to dedicate my performance of the Requiem to him.

And now I have made this tribute video with the recording of two parts of the Requiem: Introït and In Paradisum (not by E. Ameling as mentioned/detected by Youtube !). I've put some of my favourite Avon images to it, but I need some more time to create another video which I had in mind.

Rest In Peace Paul, I hope you are re-united with your lovely Janet.

My thoughts are with Paul's family and friends.

Rotating a piece

It is possible to rotate pieces only if it was allowed by an author of the puzzle. To rotate a piece:

With a mouse

Place the cursor over the piece and

Move the mouse wheel up (left rotation) or down (right rotation).

Or, press the left (left rotation) or right (right rotation) arrow key. Note: this way is useful for one-button mouse owners (Apple).

Or, press Ctrl + right mouse button to rotate left or press only the right mouse button to rotate right. Note: this way works only if the piece is dragging.

With touch

Tap on the piece and then tap on the appeared left or right rotation icon.

Moving a piece

Every piece can be caught and dropped by the left mouse button in two ways:

Place the cursor over the piece, press and hold the left mouse button. Now you can move the piece arbitrarily but you still have to hold the left mouse button. Along with releasing the button you will drop the piece.

Or, place the cursor over the piece, click the left mouse button. You can move it again but it is not necessary to hold the left mouse button. This way is more suitable if you wish to move the piece for a longer time. The piece can be dropped by clicking the left mouse button again.

You can connect pieces together. The connection is accompanied with a sound. You can move together connected pieces as one piece.
